Design, realization and characterization of fiberoptic sensors for biomedical applications
This activity is performed in the framework of the research projects carried on in the Electrooptics laboratory relative to the realization and characterization of fiberoptic sensors for biomedical applications. In particular, the enrolled researcher is expected to work mainly on the design, realization and characterization of a fiberoptic sensor for detecting the deflection of a needle for the treatment of solid tumours during its insertion inside the tissue. Moreover, the enrolled researcher is expected to give contributions to the development of a microfluidic refractometer based on non-contact optical measurements with near infrared radiation.
The software LABVIEW will be used for interfacing electronic and optoelectronic instruments with a computer and for signal acquisitions, whereas MATLAB will be applied for data processing.
