POSITION: As part of a cluster of faculty hires at the University of Minnesota, applicants are sought for a tenure-track, research-intensive, 9-month faculty position in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences ( Competitive applicants will have expertise in cutting edge technologies, including multi-omics approaches, to investigate the molecular mechanisms of microbial community (microbiome/virome) interactions within a host in health and disease.  Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to contribute to a student-centric culture of scholarship and to develop nationally funded programmatic research and collaborations.

REQUIREMENTS:  Candidates must have a Ph.D., D.V.M., M.D. or equivalent degree and a record of innovative and collaborative postdoctoral scholarship as evidenced by publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will involve approximately 80% research and 20% outreach/teaching. The successful applicant will be expected to develop (Assistant Professor) or to currently have (advanced rank) an active externally-funded research program, and the desire and capability to promote excellence in teaching professional, graduate and undergraduate students.
