Associate/Full Professor - The Future of Jobs - Goldman School of Public Policy

The Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley is conducting a search to fill a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor of Public Policy or above, with an expected start date of July 1, 2018.
We seek applications from researchers and scholars who focus on policy issues related to the future of jobs, the changing nature of labor markets, and the ways in which Public Policy can support working people and diverse populations. We anticipate that the senior candidate hired into this position will take a leadership role in developing and directing the recently-endowed Berkeley Institute for the Future of Young Americans (the website can be viewed here: https://gspp.berkeley.edu/centers/bifya).
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in economics, demography, sociology, political science, public policy, or another discipline relevant to the topical policy area under consideration. Preference will be given to scholars who have demonstrated the potential to make significant research contributions and who have a clear interest in teaching in the core of the School’s Masters in Public Policy professional program. Prior policy experience is desirable. The Goldman School is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their research, teaching, and service.
This will be a senior hire, and thus a distinguished scholarly record sufficient to be awarded tenure at UC Berkeley is required along with a strong commitment to teaching. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for this position is a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at the time of application.

The Goldman School of Public Policy is a graduate school that prepares students for careers in public leadership. The majority of the students at GSPP are enrolled in the Master of Public
Policy (MPP) program, which emphasizes the applied and quantitative dimensions of policy making. The MPP may also be earned concurrently with degrees from several other UC Berkeley units: Law, Public Health, Engineering, Social Welfare, International and Area Studies and the Energy Resources Group. GSPP also offers a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) program which focuses on policy management and leadership, as well as a doctoral program for students interested in policy research. While the Goldman School does not offer a bachelors-level degree, the public policy minor is available to undergraduates enrolled at UC Berkeley.
Goldman School faculty represent the top researchers in their respective fields, which include economics, political science, law, social psychology and engineering. Their expertise ranges from education policy to racial profiling to clean energy. As teachers, they are dedicated to training tomorrow's policy leaders.
