Bioengineer / Biomaterial Research Faculty Position
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant, Associate, and/or Full Professor position in the non-tenure research track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of bioengineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related fields with a focus on basic and translational science investigations involving tissue-engineering and biomaterials. Responsibilities include leading a new bioengineering and biomaterials laboratory with translational applications to pediatric laryngotracheal reconstruction and laryngology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and with the CHOP Center for Pediatric Airway Disorders.
The initiative is sponsored by a programmatic grant entitled the CHOP Frontier Program. The generous startup package includes laboratory space and state-of-the-art research equipment along with access to numerous core lab facilities at CHOP and Penn. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.
The successful applicant will have a primary appointment in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Bioengineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
