Merck Research Lab is currently
recruiting for a summer intern working with Global Clinical Trial Operations
(GCTO) for North America (USA & Canada). GCTO is a global organization
operating in ~50 countries and is responsible to deliver Merck’s diverse
development portfolio comprising of over 200 clinical trials in compliance with
global and local regulations. The North America organization is responsible for
a significant proportion of the GCTO budget, staff and deliverables – including
~2,500 clinical sites and over 900 human resources.

The intern will engage with GCTO
leadership team and general staffing team members for participation in and/or
leading projects that support country operations driving the efficient and
ethical conduct of clinical trials across the region. Activities may include (but are not limited

- Generation of performance metrics
- Support of resource management
- Development of effective
- Development of tools to enhance investigator
relationships / process improvements



- Required:
Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree program
- Candidates
must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.


- Candidates
must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June
of 2018


- Preference
will be for candidates enrolled in life sciences, business, organizational
management, or data analysis types of degree programs
