Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology
Goshen College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology to begin July 1, 2018 with a specialization in molecular biology. Course load could include Advanced Molecular Genetics, Developmental Biology, Vertebrate Physiology, and/or Anatomy & Physiology. The successful candidate will initiate an undergraduate research program in molecular biology in addition to leading the college’s pre-health program.
We seek colleagues with exceptional teaching skills, a commitment to mentoring students via an undergraduate research program. The Biology Department at Goshen College has a very strong record of success among graduates who apply to advanced programs including medical school and other professional programs. Facilities include excellent on-campus laboratories for teaching and research, a marine biology station in the Florida Keys, and the 1,189 acre Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center.
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology (or related field) is required; college level teaching experience preferred; interest in teaching in a small, liberal arts college and strong interest in undergraduate research is required; we seek a colleague who is committed to the core values and mission of Goshen College. Because Goshen College is working toward becoming a Hispanic-serving Institution (HIS), proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
