Job Description
DUTIES:

Work in a molecular biology laboratory within a team and perform experiments daily to support IVD product development teams, including: sample screening using Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), sample stability studies and testing to release Quality Control (QC) material.
Do data analysis in Excel, prepare presentations in PowerPoint, presenting results to the team at group meetings including:
Review specific sequencing parameters to ensure sequencing runs and samples have passed required metrics;
Review data from sample screening to determine whether a sample can be used in a particular study;
Analysis of data obtained from NGS testing of samples to support submission to the FDA.
Maintain a laboratory notebook and adhere to strict protocol guidelines, including: recording details of experiments in numbered notebooks assigned by the company, which is critical for traceability of sample usage and data which supports development of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) products.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex molecular biology protocols: Development of IVD products requires traceability for studies performed and requires that they be performed on according to a pre-approved protocol, that had been agreed upon by an extended team and adhering to the plans in the protocols is critical for successful completion of the study.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree Molecular Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or related field of study plus 3 years of biotechnology, industrial laboratory or related experience.

Must have experience or knowledge of:

Developing in vitro diagnostic products;
Molecular biology laboratory;
DNA and RNA purification and quantitation;
PCR and quantitative PCR;
Next-Gen Sequencing on the Ion Torrent Platform;
Processing clinical samples and sample management; and
BSL-1 lab.
