Open Rank Faculty Positions in Physiology
Applications are invited for an expanded search for multiple tenure track or fixed term faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank in the Department of Physiology, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physiology or in a closely related discipline, or a M.D. degree with a research focus in a relevant area. Competitive applicants will have a strong publication record, significant postdoctoral experience, and demonstrated potential to establish a rigorous, extramurally funded research program. Candidates for appointment at the Associate or Full professor rank must have substantial current, transferable extramural level funding. Preference will be given to applicants whose research expertise is in one of the following areas: Cardiovascular (with focus on heart failure, hypertension, or vascular remodeling), cellular neurophysiology, or cellular and systems metabolism. Research strengths of the department include bioenergetics, cardiovascular pathophysiology, peripheral vascular function, sensorimotor neurobiology, skeletal muscle biology and urological function. These positions are heavily research focused, and selected faculty will have significant protected time initially to establish their research programs. The successful candidates will be expected to train doctoral students and progressively contribute to teaching in graduate medical, dental, and allied health curricula.
