The Project & Communications Management role is a member of the Global Regulatory and Clinical Safety (GRACS) Business Operations & Strategy Team. This role is critical for providing an integrated approach to the successful planning and execution of communications, as well as integrated change management and communications leadership across GRACS.

Under the direction of the Director, GRACS Business Operations lead, the incumbent is responsible for providing a prioritized, aligned and fully integrated communications strategy for GRACS, including execution of key activities and deliverables to support this strategy. The Project & Communications Management role collaborates with stakeholders across GRACS to assess needs and develop communication materials that will promote a strong culture of transparency and community across our functionally and geographically diverse organization. , Aligned with the GRACS Change Management Center of Excellence (COE) integrated support model strategy, this role will provide communication support &/or consultation support for transformational GRACs strategic initiatives. Routine active engagement with Senior Leadership is required to develop and execute strategies to support ongoing business needs.

Core responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

- Create forward-looking strategic communications plan / roadmap to support Global Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Safety strategic vision and annual objectives

- Provide oversight and guidance to GRACS Sync community stewards to build, promote and populate the GRACS community on Sync, as well as ensuring consistency and sharing of best practices across GRACS

- Provide leadership and oversight of the GRACS Communication Council as a reliable forum for sharing of information among GRACS colleagues

- Ensure alignment of GRACS communications with MRL and Merck messaging, strategy and guidance

- Create and manage ongoing communications for broad GRACS dissemination

- Develop, manage and analyze metrics to continually enhance GRACS communication needs to determine prospective editorial planning

- Collaborate with GRACS Chief of Staff to develop internal and external presentation needs, as needed for SVP, GRACS (e.g., town halls, webcast presentations, external symposiums or industry conferences)

- Partner with lead change agents for GRACS strategic initiatives to provide communication strategy/approaches to complement change management strategies

- Partner with business stakeholders to align and integrate communication strategies across functions, and accelerate work on the critical path to support execution of strategies.

- Leverage and contribute to the GRACS Change Management COE toolkit to drive consistent approach to transformative communications across GRACS

- The incumbent should have the following Leadership Capabilities:

- Be skilled in effectively managing virtual teams and have ability to influence both horizontally and vertically

- Drive to engage others, and have excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

- Cultural sensitivity, diversity and effectiveness

Qualifications

Education Requirement:

- Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience:

- Minimum of 8 years’ combined and diverse experience in Change Management, Project Management &/or Communications Management, Operations, with demonstrated record of solid achievements.

- Sharepoint expertise in configuring, uploading and effectively displaying content

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral communication)

- Experience working in both strategic and tactical space

- Strong sense of urgency and leadership abilities

- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the different functional areas and geographies and work cross functionally as part of a team

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities

- Demonstrated ability to network, collaborate, and communicate across cultures, organizational levels and disciplines

- Demonstrated success on independently leading/delivering on project objectives

Preferred Experience:

- Working knowledge of Global Regulatory and/or Clinical Safety organizational structures

- Experience working on large-scale, global initiatives

- Certification (Project Management, Change Management &/or Lean Six Sigma)

- Advanced degree
