Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Quality Control, the Quality Control Microbiology Associate will perform routine environmental monitoring and water sampling of the GMP manufacturing facility. Also, this individual will support establishing testing methodologies in-house as well as perform routine testing and projects as assigned. This position will start in Cambridge, MA and transition to Norwood, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine environmental monitoring and water sampling
  • Prepare and ship samples for testing and microbiological identification
  • Assist with evaluating instrumentation and methods in support of internal testing
  • Support initiation/closure of quality system records such as environmental monitoring excursion notifications and deviations
  • Perform data entry
  • Execute routine testing and general laboratory support activities including equipment maintenance and housekeeping
  • Write/revise SOPs
  • Execute projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS in a relevant scientific discipline (entry-level position)
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of GMP, microbiology, aseptic technique and general laboratory equipment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with electronic databases (preferred)
