A postdoc position at the Ho Laboratory at the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis, Yale University School of Medicine is immediately available.

This research program focuses on using molecular virology approaches to investigate HIV latency mechanisms and to develop HIV cure strategies. The translational approach, which uses blood samples from infected individuals, involves: 1) using single cell RNAseq to examine transcriptional landscape of HIV-infected cells, 2) examination of HIV immune escape mechanisms and chronic immune activation, 3) using small compound libraries to identify HIV epigenetic silencing agents, and 4) using CRISPR/Cas9 systems to examine HIV latency mechanisms. Details can be found at https://medicine.yale.edu/micropath/people/ya-chi_ho.profile

Highly motivated applicants with previous experience in bioinformatics, flow cytometry, RNA biology, single cell technology, microbiology, or immunology are encouraged to apply. No prior HIV research experience is required. The applicant is expected to work in a BSL2+ facility following standard BSL2+ operating procedures to process infectious blood samples and highly concentrated viruses.

Qualified applicants are expected to hold PhD, MD/PhD, or DVM/PhD in biomedical research or related field. To apply, please send your CV and a 1-page statement describing your research interests, relative background, career goals, and the contact information of 2-3 referees to: ya-chi.ho@yale.edu. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its students, staff, and faculty and strongly welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
