The Labunskyy Laboratory is seeking highly motivated new/recent Ph.D. graduates to fill a postdoctoral position. The research in our lab is focused on studying the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying the aging process, with the goal of utilizing this knowledge to develop novel therapies for age-related diseases. We are looking for candidates in the following areas:

1) Computational Genomics. We are looking for a computational biologist with interest in network-based inference and large-scale data integration. The fellow will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team using whole-genome approaches to study the mechanisms of aging. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in computer science/mathematics/engineering and extensive training in statistics or computational modeling. Prior experience in machine learning and skills in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Matlab or R will be a plus.

2) Molecular Biology of Aging. Our lab uses high-throughput DNA sequencing and transcriptome analysis to study the role of translational regulation in aging. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and should hold a Ph.D. degree in one of these fields. Prior experience with both experimental and computational aspects of high-throughput sequencing (including RNA-seq and ribosome profiling) is highly desirable, but it is not a requirement. Necessary training will be provided for a motivated candidate.
