The Department of Biochemistry at Brandeis University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to begin Fall 2018.  We are searching for a creative scientist who will establish an independent research program and who, in addition, will maintain a strong interest in teaching Biochemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The research program should address fundamental questions of biological, biochemical, or biophysical mechanism.

The Department of Biochemistry is part of a vibrant and interactive scientific community.  A research-intensive liberal arts university, Brandeis fosters highly collaborative science both within and between departments and is currently conducting multiple searches that will strengthen cross-disciplinary studies across the sciences.  The suburban campus in Waltham, MA is just 20 minutes from the bustling academic and biotechnology centers of Boston and Cambridge.  For more information, visit http://www.bio.brandeis.edu/.

The application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research accomplishments and future plans, copies of up to five publications, and three letters of reference.  Applications will be accepted only through AcademicJobsOnline at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/9808.  Additional inquiries may be directed to Douglas Theobald, Associate Professor of Biochemistry (dtheobald@brandeis.edu).

First consideration will be given to applications received by December 1, 2017.  Brandeis University is an Equal Opportunity Employer, with a longstanding commitment to diversity rooted in values of inclusion and social justice.  We welcome applications from candidates who share these values and who will contribute to the University’s mission.
