The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John’s University, NY invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in pharmacology starting Fall 2018. An earned Ph.D. in pharmacology or related area is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include establishing an active research program in pharmacology that will attract external funding, mentoring students, and teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. All fields of pharmacology will be considered with a preference for candidates with expertise in target identification and pharmacological exploration of biologics. An excellent startup package is available and a large fraction of the department’s graduate students are supported by graduate assistantships, teaching fellowships and university fellowships.

The Department has 37 faculty with research interests in medicinal chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, industrial pharmacy/pharmaceutics. The Department offers both the MS and Ph.D. degrees. Modern instrumentation and AAALAC-accredited facilities are available.
