Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor – Evolutionary Developmental Biology

The Section of Cell & Developmental Biology in the Division of Biological Sciences ( invites applications for a faculty position in Evolutionary Developmental Biology at the tenure‐track Assistant, or tenured Associate or Full Professor level. Competitive candidates will have an overarching interest in applying a variety of methodologies to identify the mechanistic connections between genotype and phenotype that underlie differences between species. Priority will be given to those who exhibit curiosity about how the evolution of genes and their regulatory mechanisms influences organismal and cellular form and function. No specific biological system (plant, vertebrate, invertebrate) is sought as the focus of the candidate’s research program; all are welcome.

All candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, and be committed to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to excellence and creativity in research and scholarship, successful candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education. We are especially interested in candidates who have created or contributed to programs that aim to increase access and success of underrepresented students and/or faculty in the sciences, and/or have detailed plans to accomplish such goals.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
