Wolf B. Frommer’s team at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding in cologne is looking a

Postdoc (m/f) for a project that aims at defeating rice blight supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The postdoctoral fellow (m/f) will be responsible for designing and utilizing innovative genome editing tools to engineer blight resistance in rice. Applicants (m/f) should have a PhD degree or doctoral degree in biological sciences with a strong plant science background. Other duties include supervision of other laboratory members, and participation in the writing of grants and manuscripts. Excellent English and writing skills are a must.

The candidate (m/f) must be highly motivated and have extensive experience in plant cell tissue culture and molecular biology, experimental planning, and data interpretation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team member are essential.

The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant (m/f), up to pay grade 13 TV-L.
