Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience
A position as Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience, at the Department of Experimental Medical Science in Lund.
The job includes mainly research in neuroscience. The holder assumes continue own qualified research. The Senior Lecturer shall participate in teaching at the Faculty´s various educational programs in the first, second and third cycles and supervision of postdocs. In the employment internal and/or external missions and other duties may be added.
Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance states that a person shall be qualified for appointment as Senior Lecturer if he or she has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a PhD or has corresponding research competence. Furthermore, evidence of teaching skills is required as well as at least five weeks of teacher training courses on higher education teaching and learning or having acquired equivalent knowledge by other means, unless there are valid reasons.
Basis for assessment
The applicant is to have demonstrated research and teaching expertise of significance for the subject. The assessment will attribute particular importance to research expertise. However, the applicant is to have a knowledge background in the subject enabling them to have a holistic view of research and research studies, as well as undergraduate and Master´s level studies.
The applicant is to demonstrate research expertise through having published research articles in the subject, supervised research students up to the public defence of their thesis, and obtained research grants in competition. National and international networking and research collaborations are an additional qualification. The applicant is to demonstrate teaching expertise within both teaching and supervision at all levels of higher education. The applicant is to demonstrate ability for leadership, for engagement with wider society and for cooperation. For teaching staff at Lund University, a general requirement is suitability for the position and possession of the general abilities required to successfully carry out the work duties involved.
It is expected that any non-Swedish speaking applicant will master the Swedish language within a three- year period, with language skills sufficient for educating student at the first cycle and for communication with the University´s administrative systems
