Manage recruitment efforts for select group of target schools

Partner and consult with the business to understand business strategy and needs and hire the best future and early talent

Implement the University strategy, build relationship with the main Universities and support the business on campus recruiting.

Support the Hiring Managers on campus activity with either face to face presence or providing the appropriate tools to equip the business to represent Merck.

Serve as point of contact for prospective interns/co-ops, new college graduates and campus contacts

Coordinate and recruit at conferences & other hiring events, network and source for a diverse pool of candidates, screen resumes, assess and interview candidates, and provide feedback and recommendations to hiring managers

Support branding efforts to ensure we are positioning Merck at conferences and on campus as an employer of choice

Ensure compliance with Company applicant tracking practices and with federal/state laws

Utilize metrics to assess sourcing strategies to ensure effective investments are being made & report on recruiting activities as required or requested by the client

Responsible for insuring compliance to EEO/OFCCP regulations

Other special projects and duties as assigned


Education Minimum Requirement:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required

Required Experience and Skills:

At least 2 years of recruiting/staffing experience required (preferably in a large, matrixed organization)

Experience with university outreach and student prospects

Experience with direct sourcing and qualification of candidates, including use of the Internet, conducting telephone and on-site interviews utilizing behavioral-based interviewing techniques

Requires thorough knowledge of recruiting/staffing database systems (Taleo experience preferred)

Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication

Ability to consult and collaborate at all levels of the organization

Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated success in use of social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to drive company branding as well as source and drive candidate pipelines

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering proactive, creative, and cost-effective recruiting solutions

Working knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws

Project management expertise in a deadline driven environment

Behavioral based interview certification
