Reporting to the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) Center of Excellence (COE) Lead, the Specialist position’s core responsibilities are to support the management of trade data globally and perform data analytics for trade compliance activities. The GTC COE is primarily responsible for determining trade compliance requirements and processes, as well as executing select trade compliance functions that are best performed on a global and/or cross-divisional level. Among other centralized trade compliance activities, the GTC COE manages trade data and performs analytics to enhance the visibility of trade activities globally and to ensure compliance with trade laws and regulations. The Specialist position’s key responsibilities are around trade data; as well as handling other trade related question and issues, on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure that trade data useful for evaluating the compliance, effectiveness and efficiency of trade related processes is periodically collected, cleansed and loaded into the appropriate module

- Develop repository for trade data

- Establish, implement and maintain trade compliance reports and metrics

- Manage and maintain the Company’s data analytics tool and periodically prepare pre-determined management reports and metrics

- Support the roll-out of the data analytics tool to operational areas, aiming to closely monitor logistics and supply chain performance based key performance indicators

- Partner with relevant business areas to address inconsistencies or errors identified based on trade data

- Collaborate with GTC team members to identify their need for trade reports and address GTC requests for metrics and analytics

- Request/generate and maintain reports necessary to perform core GTC activities (e.g. annual proof of payment report, quarterly cost report for preferential origin determinations)

- Work with the business to ensure that data accuracy in trade management systems (SAP GTS and Integration Point) and logs facilitate core trade compliance activities (e.g. information necessary to perform proof of payment is available on a timely manner)

- Seek out opportunities to incorporate the trade compliance metrics into data-driven decisions made by GTC and other internal organizations

- Support any Customs or external government agency’s inquiry, audit or investigation of the Company’s trade compliance activity

- Develop an understanding of applicable trade related requirements and legislation

- On an as needed basis support GTC COE on trade related questions and issues.

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor degree required

Required:

- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (advanced Excel functions, macros, Pivot Tables)

- Demonstrated ability to consolidate and compile large data sets

- Ability to use analytics reporting platforms, relational databases and other tools to solve business problems

- Proficient in English

- Experience or ability to work with global trade management systems like SAP GTS or Integration Point

Preferred:

- Functional expertise with international trade or equivalent is desirable

- Prior experience interfacing with international companies is desirable

- Demonstrated good analytical and problem solving skills

- Logical thinker who can take complex requirements and convert them into actionable solutions and process specifications

- Strong project management skills and ability to conduct complex reporting processes

- Sustained level of high performance

- Awareness of diversity
