The Department of Neurobiology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking applicants for a research-intensive, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank.  We are searching for a talented, early stage investigator working in the area of neuroendocrinology and/or circadian rhythms at cellular, physiological, and/or integrative levels.  The position offers a competitive fully-funded salary and start-up funds, along with attractive lab/office space and animal facilities in the new Translational Research Center on our campus. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program, participate in collaborative research, and contribute to the teaching of graduate and medical or dental students.  This recruitment is part of the recent expansion of neuroscience at UMMC, including the establishment of an interdepartmental Neuroscience Institute with opportunities for widespread collegial interactions and collaborative research.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, a brief statement of research accomplishments and goals, and the names and full contact information for three references to Dr. Michael Lehman, Chair, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomical Sciences, at neuroinstitute@umc.edu.  Review of applications will begin November 15th, 2017, and continue until the position is filled.
