Junior Researcher in Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship research group at LUT focuses, among other topics, on entrepreneurship education. We emphasize the combination of research and relevance. We develop new ways of analyzing and evaluating entrepreneurship education in various contexts and actively co-operate with international, national and local partners to implement these methodologies in the educational system. In the research group, the research topics cover themes such as entrepreneurial universities, head teachersâ role managing entrepreneurship education, teachersâ entrepreneurship education practices and new approaches to school-business cooperation. New research-based knowledge on these themes is heavily called-for in the promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of entrepreneurship policies.
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated
to join our research team and to contribute in our research and development projects on entrepreneurship education.
The position will be available from 1 October 2017 or as agreed and will focus on researching entrepreneurship education and the routes to its promotion.
We especially expect applicants to have experience in the research topic as well as expertise in running both national and international projects. In addition, we expect applicants to have a knowledge of Finnish sufficient for teaching tasks. Applicants who do not have a sufficient knowledge of Finnish when submitting the application must have a good command of English and be willing to learn Finnish sufficiently within an appropriate period.
Applicants must hold a Masterâs degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in a relevant field giving eligibility for doctoral studies and be able and motivated to complete the doctoral degree in the target time of four years. The selected applicant must apply for the postgraduate study right required for completing the doctoral degree within one year of the beginning of the employment relationship.
Junior researchers aim to complete the doctoral degree in four years. The employment relationship of a junior researcher is fixed-term with a four-month trial period. The position will be available initially for one year and can be extended for another three years, provided that the doctoral studies and research have progressed well. Applicants who already have a doctoral study right at LUT are also eligible, but the maximum duration of the employment relationship will still be four years counting from the beginning of the junior researcherâs first employment contract.
The pay will be determined in accordance with the pay system for university teaching and research staff. The job grade of a junior researcher is 1 â 4 (EUR 1808.42 â 2475.31/month). In addition, the salary will include an individual pay component based on performance and competence, amounting to a maximum of 46.3% of the job-specific pay component.
