To provide administrative support to the Food Production Animal Marketing team by handling the day to day administrative activities of the teams including coordination and preparation of contracts, processing purchase orders and expense reports, review and submission of invoices, planning and coordination of team and customer meetings and other project activities.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

General Secretarial/Clerical duties constitute approximately 50% of job responsibilities.

Work requires the coordination and performance of multiple tasks while understanding the project principles and technical skills related to own work assignments.

Work priorities and activities are reviewed with little supervision.

Produces/completes various work assignments requiring strong analytical ability, independent judgment, creativity and problem solving skills.

Communication skills must be at a level to effectively interact with Merck business leaders and internal/external customers both on-site and remotely to maintain workflow.

May coordinate special projects within the division/area.

May coordinate team meetings, client meetings and special projects within the division/area.

May schedule complex multi-leg and international travel


Education Minimum Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience and Skills:

Minimum of (8) years Administrative experience

Minimum of (5) years Administrative experience supporting Directors

Advanced computer skills using (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and operation of other peripheral devices

Demonstrated experience scheduling and coordinating multi-leg domestic and international travel

Ability to handle and prioritize a large number of simultaneous assignments

Experience with event planning and coordination

Extraordinary attention to detail

Outstanding communication and people skills

Experience with financial and budget tasks

SAP experience processing Expense Reports, Purchase Orders, Payment Requests.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Advanced education or certifications such as (e.g. Certified Administrative Professional, Project Management Professional Certification, etc.) preferred
