Assistant Professor - Professor

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is recruiting faculty to instructional (tenure) track positions in both early career (Assistant Professor) as well as senior (Associate Professor or above) positions to conduct research and lead research program in areas of interest that align with or complement research activities in the Department and its associated Comprehensive Depression Center. Applicants must hold a MD/PhD, MD, PhD or equivalent. The successful candidate will have a defined program of research and have evidence of success in obtaining external funding and publishing their work in high-impact journals.

The Department maintains a large, active portfolio of federally-funded research, and the Medical School and University provide a rich, dynamic academic environment. Current department research strengths include neuroimaging, genetics, longitudinal studies, child mental health, health services, substance use disorders and basic neurobiology relevant to neuropsychiatric disorders. This position will closely interface with the extensive clinical and research activities within the Department of Psychiatry, University of Michigan Comprehensive Depression Center and across the University of Michigan Medical School and university campus. Opportunities abound for the integration of clinical and neurobiological research with clinical delivery systems. While evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is desirable, it is not required.
