Postdoc Researcher (Ref.38/2017)
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc to be part of the group working on plant-pathogen interactions and plant cell death: www.ub.edu/bactplantdiseases
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Catalan Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and the University of Barcelona (UB). The Center currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (http://biannualreport2014-2015.cragenomica.es/).
To carry out independent research and to assist technically and conceptually PhDs in the group. The work will involve studying the virulence determinants of the devastating bacterial plant pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum. The project aims at deciphering key genes controlling bacterial pathogenicity and survival in the environment using the R. solanacearum-potato pathosystem and transcriptomic / environmental microbiology approaches.
All the task are included in the framework of the project: AGL 2016-78002-R.
Educational Requirements: A Phd in life sciences
Required Skills: Good knowledge of microbiology and/or plant molecular biology techniques. Previous experience on transcriptomics would be a plus.
