Search for Lepton Universality Violation with B decays at the LHCb experiment
Recently LHCb measurements have shown the existence of a possible Leptonic Universality Violations, not foreseen by the Standard Model. In particular, these discrepancies are observed by measuring the ratio of the branching ratios of decays B0-> K*0 mu+mu- and B0-> K*0e+e- and B0-> D*- tau+ nu and B0- > D*- l+ nu, obtained by the LHCb Collaboration with RUN-1 data. This research project consists of updating these measures with the LHCb RUN-2 data. Namely, the research project aims to optimise the selection algorithms of the various decays considered and to study the trigger and reconstruction efficiencies of the final states. Particular attention will be dedicated to the development of data-driven analysis techniques by means of control samples with the aim of improving the precision of the measurements by reducing the systemic uncertainties.
