Merck
Research Lab is currently recruiting for a summer intern within its Library division
under Global Science and Medical Publications. The primary responsibility of
the intern will be to migrate information about resources that are purchased
and/or recommended by the Library from the current website to a more flexible
content management system where they can be searched, browsed, filtered and
customized.

Qualifications

Education:

- Required:
Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the sciences
or a related field, including computer sciences.
- Candidates
must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.

Required
Experience:

- Candidates
must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June
of 2018
- Candidates
must have experience using
published literature in support of research projects.
- Candidates
must have a basic understanding of Biomedical sciences, including the
ability to categorize information resources according to therapeutic
areas, research stages, and business goals
- Candidates
must have excellent written communication skills
- Candidates
must have outstanding ability to organize information and manage one’s own
time

Preferred
Experience:

- Experience
publishing professional or educational documentation on the web, using a
content-management platform such as Word Press, SharePoint, Drupal or
Joomla.
- Expertise
with HTML and JavaScript
- Knowledge
of the Pharmaceutical industry.
