Under the direction of the Enterprise Solutions Product Lifecycle Management Process Steward, the process specialist will provide support for product-related end-to-end business processes. Lifecycle management (LCM) processes include the full product lifecycle from new product introduction/launch, through in-line standardization, through LOE and the deletions/divestiture phases.

The process specialist will work cross divisionally and cross regionally to partner with stakeholders in managing Merck’s portfolio to enable LCM processes and IT tools. Stakeholders include Product Leaders, Regional Portfolio Management, Global Brand Leaders, CBL Leaders and Regulatory Integration Leaders.

The process specialist will need an ability to listen and integrate different views to offer problem resolution alternatives across divisions and regions. The individual must have an ability to take strategic concepts, evaluate complex problems, and facilitate creative but workable solutions through execution. The specialist must be comfortable in raising project risks and offering mitigation strategies to PSO work stream leads and skilled at leading through influence across divisions and securing appropriate support to drive outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Development of standard business processes and supporting tools and templates

- Collaboration with the process owners and Communities of Practice for the deployment and initial execution of processes

- Establishing clear roles & responsibilities, metrics and governance structure to support the sustainment and continuous improvement of business processes

- Provide business process oversight and governance of changes to ensure continuous improvement and issue resolution

- Act as business contact for various IT tools providing system administration, business requirements, and acceptance testing support for system enhancements including PLURaL and Deletion Processing systems and PSO Metrics.

- Continuous improvement of procedures and tools to simplify portfolio management business processes

- Develop, edit and maintain necessary training materials as required

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s Degree Required

Required:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in planning, materials management, manufacturing or related positions

- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, and the ability to manage multiple priorities as well as anticipate and solve problems

- Experience in project management

- Strong analytical skills

- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for impactful presentations

- Change management and communication planning experience

- Strong communication skills

Preferred:

- Ability to understand interests across divisions and offer solutions with One Merck mindset.

- Basic understanding of Manufacturing Operations preferred

- Prior experience with Merck MRP systems, practices/principles beneficial

- Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Project, SPOTFIRE and supply chain modeling desirable
