The research project aims at depicting the pharmacokinetic profile of Gamma-Hydroxy-Butirrate (GHB) intake in adult and pediatric patients with Narcolepsy type 1. Moreover, the study aims at evaluating whether GHB intake is associated with adverse effects at morning awakening.
The research fellow will perform all the activities of the research project at the Center for Narcolepsy and Hypersomnias of Central Origin and at the Laboratory of Clinical Neuropharmacology of the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences (DIBINEM), University of Bologna under the supervision of the tutor Prof. Giuseppe Plazzi.
The researcher will focus on the characterization of the nocturnal pharmacokinetic profile of GHB and will evaluate whether different residual drug concentrations at morning awakening are associated with adverse events.
