The main aims of the study are:

1. to investigate the prevalence of women showing only transient depressive mood versus persistent depressive mood at their third trimester of pregnancy using a double administration of EPDS across 3 weeks;

2. to compare the rate of women with persistent depressive symptoms with the rate evidenced by a diagnostic tool.

The sample will consist of 150 Italian women, recruited in occasion of control visits and antenatal classes at Health Services of Forlì and Cesena (Emilia-Romagna).

Women accepting to participate in the study will be given a written consent form, and a scheduled meeting (after one week) at the University Lab (Psicodinamica dello Sviluppo, Cesena) in order to: collect demographic information, complete the EPDS, administer the SCID. A second meeting will be planned, after 2 weeks, in order to complete again the EPDS and investigate perception in mood changes.
