Postdoctoral Researcher at ICIQ, Spain (ERTFLOW Unit and Prof. Miquel A. Pericàs' Group)
The Institute of Chemical research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher. This position will be funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) (RTC-2016-5807-1).
ICIQ is committed to performing excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in the broad area of chemistry (Catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, Activation of Small Molecules, Photovoltaics, Functional Molecular Assemblies and Chemical Biology, from either theoretical or experimental perspectives). ERTFLOW is a technology development unit integrated in the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) to develop and implement technical solutions in process intensification. ERTFLOW's goal is to develop proprietary technologies related to catalysis and flow chemistry and to offer products and services to the fine chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries for the production of new products with high added value and guide them in the paradigm change from batch to flow.
ICIQ is looking for strongly independent and motivated candidates to undertake research in ERTFLOW Unit and in the group of Prof. Miquel A. Pericàs at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona (Spain).
The selected candidate will work on the project FLOW4HEALTH: Development of processes in continuous flow for the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
In collaboration with Laboratorios Dr. ESTEVE, S. A. and ESTEVE QUÍMICA, S. A.
- Be able to approach challenging synthesis and continuous flow processes problems, including having the knowledge to work safe with potentially hazardous chemicals and/or under potentially dangerous reaction conditions (like high pressure and temperature for instance).
- Complete necessary deliverables within stringent timelines and communicate results to the collaborators.
- Writing reports of the obtained results.
- May assist in the supervision of student projects and in the development of student research skills
