Job Description

The Electronics Technician provides expertise regarding system testing to engineering project teams. Responsibilities include executing test plans, participating in design reviews, designing cables and assembly methods, assembling and troubleshooting prototypes, and providing technical advice to the company. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Provides support and training for transfer of designs to manufacturing. Supports ongoing quality efforts.

Responsibilities:
• With minimal supervision, build, test, and troubleshoot designs for new or existing systems.
• Build prototypes using cables, soldering, machine tools, and general mechanical assembly.
• Coordinate the transfer of build, test, and troubleshooting information to manufacturing.
• Coordinate product pre-release builds with manufacturing.
• Create and verify test procedures for production.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
• Three to five years of proven experience in micro-electronic fields.
• Proficiency in electronic debugging and troubleshooting methodology.
• Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, etc).
• Proficiency at soldering and desoldering including small surface mount components.
• Proficiency at building cable assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with international regulatory standards and ability to test systems to the standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of relevant internal and external manufacturing processes.
