Job Description
Responsibilities:
    Perform complex calculations based on Molarity, percent by volume, dilutions, ppm, and ppbPrepare high quality specialized media, including buffers, microbial agar plates, mammalian cell culture media, and antibioticsPerform specific tasks associated with media prep, including but not limited to pH titration, osmolality adjustment, sterile filtration techniques, and aliquotsVerification, calibration, and use of common and specialized lab equipment including, but not limited to magnetic mixer, hot plate, micropipettors, autoclave, balances, laminar flow and fume hoods, pH and conductivity meters, osmometers, Blood Gas Analyzers, vacuum filtration, peristaltic pumps, and Nitrogen gas linesVerification of peer calculations, technical documentation, equipment log books, and approval of completed documentsTechnical writing of all media prep documents in standard Media Request procedure format. May use electronic document database to author, route, and review technical documentsPerform equipment verifications and calibrations following customer and manufacturers protocolsMay track lab equipment information including calibration schedules, open work orders, and equipment status using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CCMS)Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional areaParticipate in individual or group projects that can include, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and leading team meetingsCan engage in training activities with new-hires when working in conjunction with a Site SupervisorMay prepare media for shipment for off-site use, including classifying media hazard category and providing required MSDSOperate multiple software programs used in sample order fulfillmentWeigh and dispense solid compound samples used for researchPrepare solid compound samples for shipment to additional sitesDaily work with toxic and unknown solid compound samplesSupport the Quality Management System by:
      Development, maintenance and full adherence to departmental work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP's) in fulfillment of the requirements of our Quality Management System and the expectations of our interested parties (internal / external). Identify and report quality or compliance concerns to management and the quality function and take immediate actions to remedy. Complete all planned or unplanned quality & compliance training requirements within defined deadlines

Additional GXP Responsibilities:
    Prepare high quality GXP media for pre-clinical client basePerform GXP equipment verifications and calibrations following customer SOP'sVerify GXP equipment log book entries, including calculationsReview completed GXP log forms including but not limited to balance verification, pH meter, Chain of Custody, and Chemical Inventory reviewPerform quarterly GXP chemical inventory review following customer SOP guidelinesMay participate in quarterly GXP binder review sessionsFully trained on equipment monitoring for Critical Environmental Monitoring Ssystems. May have responsibility for responding and inhibiting CEMS alarms, monitoring and trending Controlled Environmental Monitoring System data for GLP refrigeration unitsMaintain Good Documentation Practices by following customer SOPsMay serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GXP regulatory procedures for new or existing GXP client groupsVerify and determine the regulatory status or all requested GXP media requestsMaintain annual GXP training through customer's Learning Management SystemMaintain a current resume with up to date job title, description, and dates, in the Unity Lab Services binder. To be made available in the event of a regulatory audit requestMay work with GXP client groups to train and provide SME to outsourced media when neededProvide copies of all requested completed documents to GXP clients or auditing bodies when requestedParticipate in Practical Process Improvement projects to eliminate waste and increase productivity


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    Must possess a minimum of a Associates degree in related field. Bachelor's degree is preferredDemonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills0-3 years of progressive relevant experience preferredDisplays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher ScientificMust maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Four-I ValuesExperience in laboratory setting or services preferredExperience in GLP/GMP environment preferredProven excellence in customer service skillsDetail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environmentComputer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
