The goal of CORE (Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence) is to generate strategic value evidence and collaborate on the development of market access strategies for Merck products throughout the world. The Strategy & Operations (S&O) team in CORE develops, executes and improves business processes and infrastructure to ensure that the work of CORE is delivered and leveraged in an efficient and compliant way.

Under supervision of a Director, this position will participate within the Fair Market Value Assessments of CORE study budgets. In addition, the person will provide business systems support for CORE’s document management system and other CORE IT applications.

Fair Market Value Responsibilities:

- Perform an assessment on CORE study budgets to determine if they are within Fair Market Value (FMV). Provide oversight to others performing similar reviews to answer questions and provide direction. Reach out to vendors to gather additional information when needed.

- Track the progress of projects within the FMV review cycle to ensure completion within required timelines. Run quarterly metrics and develop communications on progress.

- Assist in the development of a database to maintain decisions on FMV issues and resolution for historical reference.

- Participate as a collaborator on CORE strategic initiatives addressing process improvement in the FMV space. Seek opportunities to reduce bottlenecks and identify gaps in current processes. Escalate issues when necessary to management.

- Business System Support Responsibilities:

- Provide user support for CORE’s document management system, creating user accounts, addressing general system usage questions, and conducting annual user access review

- Provide production support for CORE’s document management system, including maintenance of metadata definitions and lists.

- Work with IT team to gather user requirements and organize testing resources for future releases of the document management system.

- Help define the interface between CORE’s document management system and Merck-wide Collaboration Hub for sharing CORE’s output.

- Support successful system adoption by planning communications and training.



•Bachelor’s Degree

Required :

•A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience required with strong scientific background. Understanding of Real World Evidence space preferred.

•Demonstrated project management skills; PMP or CPM certification preferred.

•Ability to participate in cross functional work teams

•Proven record of managing multiple priorities across diverse business areas

•Strong interpersonal and communication skillset with experience in meeting facilitation, presentations and communications to all levels of management

•Experience engaging stakeholders in a productive way to drive decisions

•Strong analytical and reporting skills. Experience with IT systems management preferred.

•Proven flexibility to adjust to a rapidly changing environment of new opportunities. Ability to deal with ambiguity and can effectively cope with and embrace change

•Highly motivated, able to work independently, raising issues with recommendations for solutions.

•Experience with process definition and improvement. Experience with six sigma methods and change management experience preferred
