The Multifunctional Nanocomposites Groups is looking for a researcher to work in the synthesis of continuous macroscopic fibres made of carbon nanotubes by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and integration as large arrays (sheets, mats, electrode, yarns) for applications in composites and energy. The candidate will develop strategies for molecular control of these fibres, including implementing equipment to monitor the catalytic reaction in-situ during CNT growth, building on the group's expertise in CNT type control and chirality studies on kilometer-long CNT fibres. Additionally, he/she will study the fibre assembly process using characterization techniques such has advanced electron microscopy, spectroscopy and WAXS-SAXS.
