You'll bring your own strengths and research focus to the GSI and be expected to apply for external income.
With a PhD or Professional Doctorate or near completion, you'll have excellent advocacy and interpersonal skills, as well as a track record initiating or contributing to collaborative projects. You'll also have research experience undertaken in a relevant field as well as experience of writing concise but comprehensive reports/papers.
