The research programme is composed of the design of polymer electrolyte fuel cell including property gradient in the main components and the development of appropriate operating strategies. The combination of these activities will allow to increase the uniformity of locally generated current in the fuel cell and therefore extend its lifetime. An extended experimental characterization of the developed fuel cells is planned, as well as a theoretical analysis for the interpretation of the obtained results, by means of the most advanced tools available at MRT Fuel Cell Lab.
