The research is in the framework of providing augmented intelligence for wide range of cyber-physical systems having actively controlled moving elements, hence supporting development of smarter mechatronic systems. In particular, after having assessed the needs for future smart production (manufacturing) from a mechatronics and robotic perspective, and after having analysed the state of the art on the current control solutions for smart manufacturing, smart procedures for real-time selftuning-reconfiguration-adaptation-optimization of embedded control systems will be developed. Further. methodologies to provide suppression of unwanted motion induced oscillations in a mechanically compliant driven load will be investigated.
