Post-doctoral position for research on functional cardiogenetics using iPSC-derived cardiac myocytes
The department of Clinical Genetics at MUMC+ in Maastricht provides genetics diagnosis and tertiary clinical care for a population of 2 million in the south of the Netherlands. gcb.mumc.nl/research-clinical-genetics.
In the field of cardiogenetics, cardiomyocytes obtained from patient-derived induced pluripotent stem-cells (iPSC) have become a useful model system for both functional assessment of a VUS and exploring therapeutic options (personalized medicine).
The department has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and ambitious postdoc who can make a major contribution to further develop iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes as routine model for functional cardiogenetics (further details of this project are available upon request). We are looking for an excellent, highly competitive researcher at the post-doctoral level.
Funding is available for a 3-year research position according to the terms of employment of Maastricht University. Following a positive evaluation, extension into a tenure track position may be possible.
