The use of soft tissue substitutes in mucogingival surgery
The research project is based on the evaluation of the effectiveness of mucogingival surgery techniques for gingival recessions coverage. The Effectiveness of the coronally advanced flap will be compared with the bilaminar techniques that involve the use of autologous connective tissue grafts or xenogeneic substitutes. The autologous connective tissue graft harvested from the palate is considered the gold standard. In order to reduce patient morbidity several xenogeneic collagen matrices were introduced. The project will compare different biomaterials in combination with mucogingival techniques to assess their effectiveness.
