Study and design of a laser driver for read/write operations of hard-disks in HAMR technology
In the context of the development of hard-disks in heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR), the goal of this program is to study, design, and experimentally characterize an integrated laser driver for read and write operations.
The activity will be divided into the following points:
• Detailed analysis of the requirements imposed by the usage of the HAMR technology and identification of the design specifications for the laser driver;
• Transistor level design and simulations in CMOS technology of the laser driver;
• Circuit layout and post-layout simulations;
• Full circuit experimental characterization.
