The main objective of this research is to create a genomics research for silver fir, which includes the sequencing of the reference genome, its annotation and preliminary genetic analyses. The research activity is part of the broader research project Silver Fir Genome Project - Building a research network in the forest sector” (SFGP-Bnetwork). The network focuses on the study of genetic adaptation of alpine ecosystems to climate change and knowledge sharing. The results of the SFGP-Bnetwork project will be accessible to all members of AFORGEN and made accessible to all interested parties with the creation of an online database. Other activities include the support for the coordination of scientific work and maintenance of the AFORGEN network website.
