An exciting opportunity exists to play a key role in driving financial success within the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD). The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting and forecasting across all global LCD sites (NA, EMEA and APAC), in addition to supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) planning and the 5 year Strategic Plan (STRAP). The Senior Financial Analyst is also responsible for leading process improvement projects, gaining subject matter expertise in financial systems, and developing new reporting tools. This position will report directly to the Global Senior Director of FP&A and works closely with a number of the division’s functional leads.
Thermo Fisher Scientific's Laboratory Chemicals Division in Fair Lawn, New Jersey has an immediate opening for a Sr. Financial Analyst.
Understand key financial business drivers and provide management with accurate, timely, and relevant information for enhanced business decision-making
Support creation of Monthly Business Review/Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) packages
Partner with global functional leaders (HR, Marketing, IT, etc) to analyze actual versus budget performance and identify opportunities to optimize spend to grow the business
Drive continuous improvement and standardization within the functional area (reporting, analysis)
Innovate new reporting tools that deliver enhanced analytics and produce efficiencies
Leverage system capabilities to efficiently report key performance metrics to leadership team on a regular basis
Facilitate LCD AOP and STRAP process
Perform other duties and ad hoc analyses as required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 5 years of financial analysis experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; modeling, pivot tables, and complex functions
Excellent communication and business partnering skills; ability to present to senior leadership
Excellent organization, detail-orientation and time management skills
Ability to work autonomously, as well as in teams, both cross-functionally and internationally
Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships
A CPA is highly preferred as is previous experience in Public Accounting
Proficiency with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Corporate Management Reporting (CMR), and Essbase is highly beneficial
Experience with MS Access, IBM Cognos, and Saleforce is a plus
