Manage a team of skilled Technicians responsible for the formulation, filling, and warehouse operations in accordance with approved procedures. Plan, coordinate, manage activities, and supervise employees to ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements in a manner that meets the needs of the Business.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Oversee and direct the daily activities of a Production Team to include staffing, training, developing, and managing annual performance reviews.

Schedule and monitor manufacturing activities, providing timely feedback to management and production planning on issues impacting inventory and schedule adherence.

Ensure compliance with Regulatory and Merck policies and practices with regard to facilities, management, documentation, and procedures directly associated with manufacturing USDA licensed and unlicensed vaccine products.

Assist in the coordination of technology transfers between R&D and Manufacturing and between Manufacturing sites.

Ensure a safe work environment for employees to include the completion of required training, the proper maintenance of manufacturing equipment and the compliant performance of daily activities.

Lead and or participate in special projects as assigned.



Bachelors Degree or higher in a related area (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related science.


A minimum of five years of manufacturing experience

A minimum of 1 year people-management experience

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to lead and motivate technical colleagues.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

Effective computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

Working knowledge of SAP

Solid understanding of mechanical and/or production line applications, logistics and planning.

Analytical skills to include Problem Analysis, Problem Solving, Root Cause Investigation/Verification and Critical Thinking.
