<p>Seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellow(s) to perform mechanistic studies for the characterization of novel pathways involved in the adaptation of solid tumors to low oxygen or hypoxia. Candidate will investigate the regulation of iron and oxygen metabolism in kidney cancer with the goal of identifying new therapeutic targets.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>Candidates must possess a PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or related field. Candidates should have high proficiency in general cell biology and molecular biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, western blots,&nbsp;PCR, and cell viability/reporter assays. Successful candidates should also have experience in bacterial protein expression and purification techniques. Proficiency in animal handling/surgery is desirable. Candidates should be organized, able to work independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative research environment. Strong benefit package including&nbsp;retirement and health plan options.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p>1) Perform laboratory experiments which may include cell culture, molecular cloning, western blotting, PCR, animal handling/surgery, and protein purification.<br /> 2) Plan experiments, perform data analysis, have ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br /> 3) Present data in group meetings, and at local and international meetings.<br /> 4) Supervise lab technicians and students.<br /> 5) Prepare manuscripts.</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS: </strong>Must have completed PhD.
