Harvard University
Center For Brain Science Faculty Position

The Center for Brain Science (CBS) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to lead an innovative research program in neuroscience. Current faculty use a variety of model systems and approaches to learn how the nervous system accounts for behaviors and mental processes and how its circuits develop. Areas of particular interest in this search include, but are not limited to, computational/theoretical neuroscience and the biology of the human brain. Successful candidates will hold an academic appointment in an appropriate department in the life, physical or social sciences at Harvard University.

CBS fosters interactions across disciplinary boundaries—faculty from several academic departments have neighboring labs and share common research facilities and meeting space; its connections also reach out across the University. Further information about CBS is available at http://cbs.fas.harvard.edu/.

Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in both research and teaching. A strong doctoral record is required and postdoctoral experience preferred. Teaching opportunities will include offerings at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, three-page research statement, statement of teaching philosophy, up to three publications, and contact information, including email addresses, for three people who will write letters of reference on your behalf to http://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/7774. The letter-writers will receive a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. We will begin considering applications as they are received, but all materials, including letters of reference, should be submitted by November 1, 2017. Appointments at the Assistant and Associate Professor level will be considered.

Applications from, or nominations of, women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged. Harvard University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
