A position for a postdoctoral research fellow is immediately available at the Forsyth Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

We are very excited to embark on a National Institute of Health-sponsored project to develop a novel oral vaccine against HIV/AIDS. A postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in Immunology is sought for the careful planning and implementation of research projects involving parenteral vaccination, mucosal and systemic tissue collection/cell isolation, and assays to assess mucosal/cellular immune responses. Those projects will require proven experience in immunological techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, and cell imaging.

Located in Kendall Square, Forsyth is at the epicenter for biomedical research and has fostered collaborations in both academia and industry. Forsyth is an affiliate of the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.


Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Ph.D combined with a professional degree (M.D., DDS, and D.V.M) in Immunology, Virology or a related field. Candidates who recently completed their graduate degree or those with 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record and expertise in immunological assay techniques. Experience with laboratory animal handling and experimentation is required. Experience with mucosal immunology and basic molecular biology is a plus. High level of intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Candidates must have good written/oral communication skills in English. The accepted postdoctoral fellow will have dual appointments at Forsyth and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
