Promotion of plant varieties: from breeding to patenting and marketing
The research activity will aim at the study and practical application of the best techniques, methods and strategies for the evaluation, testing, protection and enhancement of new fruit tree varieties obtained by the breeding programs held at The Department of Agricultural Sciences (DIPSA). Research activities will integrate both technical and scientific aspects related to the development of new plant varieties and legal-management aspects for the protection and enhancement of varietal innovations. The activity will have a highly international connotation, as the strategies for enhancing protected plant varieties have as a target especially foreign markets and stakeholders. The program will be mainly pursued under the supervision of the Knowledge Transfer Office of the Research Area and Third Mission (ARIC-KTO), in close collaboration with DIPSA. The research fellow will contribute to strengthening the staff of ARIC-KTO.
