Proselytism and mass media in the Arab world. Survey on the new ‘channels' of Islamic propaganda
The present research project aims to investigate the role of private television stations that host the flow of new Islamist propaganda as major platforms for indoctrination and jihadi radicalization.
On the methodological level, we will conduct a preliminary bibliographical and audiovisual research in order to set the theoretical framework of the study. In mapping the new Arab media-scape we will try to detect the main actors of Jihadist media propaganda. In the following stage, we will make a comparative analysis of the selected audiovisual sources, paying attention to the linguistic level, namely to the political potential of the language in use. We will take into account only a selected body of Arab Media networks according to their influential role in the Arab region.
