Context

The Reactive Polymer and Thin Films Processing group is part of the Materials Research and technology department at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. Its activities are focused on prototyping, upscaling and process development for organic, inorganic and hybrid functional coatings using plasma and thermal assisted chemical and physical deposition from the gas phase.


Description

We are seeking a young Development engineer/experimented technician to support our activities in the vacuum-based chemical vapor deposition. The related tasks involve:


  • Performing systematic deposition studies in the context of various running projects

  • Securing samples' and results' traceability

  • Producing technical protocols, forms, engineering and feasibility reports

  • Presenting the data to the group and also to our international partners in the form of seminars

  • Organizing the equipment planning and qualification test plan

  • Organizing and performing the equipment maintenance

  • Keep track and provide suggestions to improve safety, quality and productivity aspects

  • Train new users

  • Contribute to the further development of the technique

  • Contribute to development of new products ideas

Profile
Education
  • The engineer position requires a Master's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science

  • The position is also accessible for an experimented┬átechnician with a Bachelor of engineering in the above mentioned disciplines with more than 5 years of experience

Competencies
  • Basic knowledge on vacuum systems

  • Basic knowledge on reactive gases

  • Basic knowledge on corrective action and problem solving skills

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and drive projects to completion

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis fundamentals

  • Knowledge in configuring, programming and maintaining systems

  • Ability to work in team
