We want to investigate, analyze and implement numerical techniques suitable to approximate partial differential equations governing complex phenomena in underground flows, accounting for heterogeneities of the media, and the possible coupling with reactive processes and/or poroelasticity. The main target applications are the exploitation of hydrocarbon or geothermal reservoirs, CO2 storage, soil remediation, but the numerical methods may find their use also in some biomedical applications like flow in biological tissues or the simulation of some industrial processes.
